Using a Twist Jar Opener as Follow Focus | DIYPhotography.net

It does fulfil the goal of making the focusing of the camera smoother and less awkward in terms of the hand position.  I think it would also make hitting a specific point on the focus ring a more visual task that is possible from behind the camera (without being able to see the markings on the lens...)

Might work nicely with a second one on the fixed part of the lens as a focus stop to align with...

Thanks for the tip.

Glad I saw this, I was in the mall with my girlfriend and she wanted to stop in at a store called Peppers which has more kitchen gadgets than I ever thought existed. Anywho I was able to find the exact same thing (albiet for $4 CDN) and it works great as a follow focus. Just thought I'd mention this for any folk that don't have a BB&B in their city.

Cheers

Red Sox Journal: Fenway Park was just what Pedroia needed

BOSTON — All Dustin Pedroia needed, it seems, was to come home.

Pedroia, perhaps as visibly frustrated as anyone by the team’s 0-6 start, has certainly answered the bell in Boston. The sparkplug second baseman, who like his teammates struggled through the season-opening road trip, has put together back-to-back three-hit games against the Yankees at Fenway.

Pedroia homered in his first at-bat at Fenway on Friday — the third straight year he’s gone deep in the home opener, by the way — and followed it up with a two-run single an inning later.

He was in the middle of three of the four Red Sox runs on Saturday, scoring the first after a leadoff double and knocking in the final two runs with another double. He had three two-baggers on the day, and even more impressive, hit one to each part of the outfield. He lined one down the left-field line in the third, launched one off the wall in center in the fourth and blooped one down the right-field

Pack a rubber jar opener to act as a sink stopper and a clothesline for drying. You can bring Woolite if you wish, but I've used shampoo or bar soap. Make sure your clothes are quick-drying. That means I'd probably only wash socks, undies and the shirt
