These are a real hit!! We live close to the Homer Laughlin factory and visit their outlet store often. We have a multitude of colors of their dishes and I wanted the flatware but the outlet store has limited colors so I checked Amazon. I was pleasantly surprised to find numerous color choices and low prices!! My teenagers love them. I bought six different colors and with my bonus points through Chasse Amazon, ended paying nothing!
These are nice for a low-use single set, picnic/vacation home, etc. The handles are easier to hold and they look exactly as pictured. However, if you are planning to outfit your daily dining, this set probably would not last you very long.
They are nice, but there are other sets of comparable price that can transition into life-long use. If this is what you are looking for, it is worth it to spend a few dollars more on a flatware set. It depends on your priorities of course, but the ease of use, comfort, memory anchors (from using the same set over years) and pleasure you will receive from a set like this one Oneida Danube 5-Piece Place Setting, Service for 1 (currently on sale for 13.99$) is an instant improvement to quality of life. It doesn’t have to be very expensive.
