Here are two more: July is National Ice Cream Month and Sunday is National Ice Cream Day. When President Reagan made the designations in 1984, he recognized ice cream as a food that is enjoyed by 90 percent of the nation's population.
The U.S. ice cream industry generates more than $21 billion in annual sales, and about 9 percent of all the milk produced by U.S. dairy farmers is used to produce ice cream, according to the International Ice Cream Association.
Plus, ice cream cools you off and just seems to make people happy, both young and old.
